Nachdem die United Admins heute eine neue Cheating-Death Version veröffentlichten teilte auch Eric Smith von Valve mit, daß es auch für VAC ein neues Update gibt.

"The updated security modules have several new cheat detections and a change in our banning policy. When the security modules detect a possible RAM/hardware error on the client's machine, the client will be dropped from the server and will see a message about "memory corruption". The client will NOT be banned from secure servers by VAC. They will only be dropped from the server they were playing on.

This change only applies to possible RAM/hardware errors. We will still be banning clients for more serious cheat detections."

Neben den neuen Detections enthalten (von denen keiner weiß welche es sind) gibt es noch eine weitere erfreuliche Nachricht. Es ist desöfteren vorgekommen, daß Leute wegen Hardware/Ram Fehlern fälschlich von VAC gebannt wurden. Dieser erhalten in Zukunft nur noch die Meldung "memory corruption", werden aber nicht gebannt.
