Während des ENC auf der GC 2005 sprachen wir mit dem bulgarischen Nationalspieler Martin Kadinov.

I am here with Martin Kadinov, aka 420, from the national team of Bulgaria. They played a great match versus Austria. Did you and your team expect that you will perform as well as you have done?

To be honest, I had the feeling that we would win, because we practise really hard. We hadn’t that big success after construct the Bulgaria team, but I knew that the time has come to show who we are and I knew that we would win, I had the feeling, but I didn’t know that we win so hard.

You performed really great. Who are you expecting to be your next contractor – Germany or France?

Personal I expect Germany, but it’s all the same. We prefer France, because they won against us already, we also lost against Germany in the qualification. But as I said, we prefer France to take revenge.

You told me you practise hard, did you make boot camps or how did the team prepare for such a big event?

Well, the players are from three different teams. All of the players are from Sofia which is the capital of Bulgaria and that makes it easier. We have a lot of internet cafes in Bulgaria and we practise in the best ones of Sofia called club man1a, the best internet and the best conditions for the players.

One of the players told me about the match against Russia in the qualification. Your team had a ping of 70 and they had pings about 20 or 30. Why did you have to play on such bad conditions?

Generally the pings from Bulgaria are a bit hard than from the other countries in Europe. Russia also has some internet issues. The main point was that we had to play a best of three. We won the first map with a slide difference of the ping just about 10 to 15. On the second game we were force to play on reverse conditions and we couldn’t find a server to play on good conditions, so we had 30 ping more than Russia (media file). That’s one of the main reasons why we lost the second game.

What do you think about the ENC and especially of the Games Convention as the biggest games exhibition in Europe?

The Games Convention is great. I have been to CPL, WCG, ESWC and all kind of events and I like it here most. The problem on most competitions there is nothing to do between the matches and in here on several square metres with all the games, entertainment and nice girls and everything.
